Words to the Wise

J0422581 We’ve blogged quite a bit about targeting different demographics within our community, and how the “one size fits all” approach doesn’t work with us just as it doesn’t work with consumers in general.

We’ve also focused quite a bit in the past year on issues and communications specific to aging baby boomers in our community.

Aging and planning for senior years or retirement aren’t issues most people like to contemplate, especially in the gay and lesbian community.  Still, aging is a fact of life, and it’s an area that has seen growing attention and resources in recent years.

We’re working with PRWeek on a “how-to” story for next week about reaching gay and lesbian seniors. We would love to hear your advice on communicating and targeting the seniors in our community -- best practices and lessons learned.

Feel free to comment or send a note to me directly from the link on our home page.

Reaching older people in the L/bi community is something that we're definitely guilty of not doing enough - even though from out initial market research it was something that older people flagged up - they're there, and they don't like being ignored!

So we're be very interested in hearing what you have to say on the matter...
